I'm playing on Bahrani where like 80% of the server is inactive and out of these 80%, probably 50% are in VM. I have nothing against VM, but I think it should be tweaked a bit. I think that when the account in VM is inactive for more than one month, it should instantly be forced out of the VM. If a person that is in VM wasn't able to login to their account within that month, the probability is that they will never log back in. This will help the economy, the population of the server and the will/drive of the remaining people to play. It is quite annoying when you have to scroll tens of systems to find a target that is not in the VM and I'm pretty sure that that kind of emptiness forces even more people to quit the game. So, it would be great if something could be done about this, especially for the smaller servers. Some kind of a special rule just for those servers. It also doesn't have to be 1 month, it can be 2 months before they are forced out, but not 6-7 months like some accounts have been...

Or better let AI control that accounts and raid everyone active 24/7
I'm not against the idea of inactive accounts (including long time inactive VM accounts) being played by the AI 🙂 That sounds interesting and would probably make it more fun for the majority of the active people.
This has been here for some time now. Is there any feedback about this from the devs or admins? I understand that you guys are a small team, but even just saying "we cannot do this", "we don't have resources for this", "we don't want it", "this wouldn't work", would be good 🙂
Hey. While I partly can understand the reason for such a change it will most likely never happen. If the reason for such a change is mainly the emptiness on servers there are potentially different other solutions which I would consider first before changing how vmode works.
I mean, for sure there are. However, VM is basically taking the server hostage. Especially if someone stops playing and they leave their acc in VM forever. Every account is a part of the eco system. Low ranks, high ranks, inactive. Only the VM people are the ones that are secluded from the server. And I am not talking about active VM people. If you are logging once a week, it's completely fine. But as soon as you become inactive, there should be a grace period before your VM turns off and you just become inactive. This will 100% boost the playability of servers. People will at least have something to do. And just to emphasize this what I'm talking about, check the screenshot below. It's just a bottom part of top 100 on Bahrani. Upper part is pretty similar.
So you technically have 50 VM accounts out of top 100... A few of us more active people even stopped attacking lower ranks because we need server not to die. If we attack them, they will go to VM and probably never come back and we need to preserve any activity that we have.
@tulip shell I have read your updated rules but I cannot see anyway for the people to give thumbs up/down for this post.
While I do see that some of the posts can be reacted to.
And sorry that I'm bumping this post, but now we have approx 60 top 100 accounts in the VM. The majority of them are in VM for over 5 months. I am sure that kicking them out of VM after a certain time of account inactivity would make the game more interesting for active players.
Agreed 👍
