this is an issue i experienced in multiplayer, it didnt seem to happen to the host of the game

Experienced same thing yesterday. Ours fixed itself when the npc moved to tend a table, but was like the image for about 10~ seconds or so.
For details, I had just come down from the kitchen moments after the hired npc arrived. It stood there faceless till it was prompted to perform its task and then behaved like normal, a face appeared as soon as it moved and turned; which I assume reset the sprite as it loaded a different section of its file.
The host seemed unbothered and the other player was not inside the tavern at the time. Nothing else unusual occurred the whole session, and this was the second of the two days we played thru.
