I was keeping my guest room dirty and unoccupied so I could put something in it to improve the comfort. It was a big item, so I can only place it when the tavern was closed. And the tavern was open, since it was mid day.
So it was dirty and I was explicitly not going to the check-in counter to check anyone in. When all of a sudden I see someone walking up the stairs. I immediately followed and they just entered the room and closed the door.

And so I had a guest in the room for the night. I'm not even sure I got paid. I'm just very confused.

99,9% sure it's not a bug, it was probably a room you rented for 2 days and he just went out for some time so you can clean it up.

Yeah that's a double rental mechanic so you have a chance to clean. It freaked me out a bit the first time I noticed it as well
