I will admit, I came to the discord originally to gripe about something before finishing the demo, but I figured I should take a breath (and that breath was realizing that I could dodge THROUGH enemies if not over them) and come back. Demo took me about 30-40min to complete; I beat the Grave Warden my first try. I'm very experienced with souls like games, MMO's, and RPG's.
You guys have something REALLY awesome on your hands here and I will absolutely be buying the finished product. The combat is easy to learn and fun to master. Visually the game is stunning and has an awesome aesthetic.
My biggest complaints are these...
1-Just not enough UI information. I'f the game isn't going to hold my hand, but instead throw a ton of stats at me, I need to know all the information. I wasn't able to activate the tower shield ability once, and I had NO idea what it did. For a while I couldn't equip the tower shield and the weapon I wanted because I went over some equip load threshold, I wish there was a place I could find that information, ie what equip load I'm at etc.
2-I REALLY hope switching weapon slots and ability sets can be linked to a single key bind. The game alludes to being able to switch to a two handed blade then having the ability to use Heavy Attack, but If I have to press the Dpad to change weapon, and then AGAIN to get to the move sets I want that will honestly be cumbersome and slow down pacing. I hope there is instead a "load out 1" and "load out 2" you can switch to on the fly.
3-I just wish I had more time to play the demo or have expanded skill sets. I unlocked several abilities off of weapon master, and I could see the trees looked linked on the skill grid, teasing multi-classing hopefully. Because the demo gives you a spell and then a dagger set and ability you can't use, I'd really recommend the ability for those skill trees to opened for the sheer sake of potentially attracting other types of players by demonstrating the other play styles.
