Earlier this week, a conversation emerged about cards/sheets that could be laid out on the table to serve as reminders of certain rules in beanSprout. I started adapting the verbiage from @teal robin 's thermal printed ones to create the "YOUR TURN" and "COMBAT RULES" cards. I then got carried away and tried to adapt the entire beanSprout rules page into a total of 7 cards. Obviously not all of them would be needed to be seen at all times but i figured they could be nice to look over at least once for new players. I wanted to use graphics to help break up all the text and serve as something that could be seen at a quicker glance for most reminders. These are set up with grayscaled printing in mind and at standard 2.5x3.5" card size, but honestly I think they need to be sized up to be good and legible. I'm most worried about the legibility of the "MONSTER CARDS" card and "BEFORE YOU START" card since I have annotated graphics on those. Please feel free to look over these and absolutely criticize the crap out of them if there is something I missed or could be worded better. Thanks @remote mason and @swift fiber also for the examples you shared to serve as inspiration for these.

Innitially just reading this I don't have critique of the information. Just that I'm not sure all of this information should be on cards. It might be a little cumbersome to have all of these on cards rather than just a rules sheet/booklet. It would almost become a second hand for new players. I think the "game board", "your turn" and "combat" cards would all be great as cards though.

Usually you read the rules once over, then refer to these quickly as you're playing.

As I started adding more and more I was thinking of them as a whole more like a rule sheet/booklet just with the card form factor, but yeah I get what you mean entirely. those three you listed are definitely the only three I would like leave out during play

I really love this as a rulebook

If your goal is to make an easy-to-reference card to have on the side, you might need to simplify it

Understandable, in my mind I was making like a typical rule book but with those three pages/cards being multi-purpose. Thorough enough to serve as rule book pages to read over the first time with enough visual aide to serve as reminders during play. I can see how some of them definitely aren’t achieving that. Personally I think “The Game Board” and “Your Turn” are about a simple as can be. “Combat Rules” could probably use some work though.
