I tested 3 player matches with some friends and here are my thoughts.

It was still fun. Games are longer and grindier, which I find fun. There are usually a bunch of level 3 monsters on the field making the endings of games really explosive. It's very possible to kill 2 players in one turn.

Games are far more defensive. Since you can only have 3 stacks attacking is much riskier. Exhausting even one monster can cost you the game since you have to survive 2 rounds of potential attackers.

It might be fun to allow a 4th stack so your resources aren't so strained on your opponents' turns.

Can you explain how you go about this?

basicially the same exact as 2 ppl, since the ruliings are all based on when "your turn" starts. so your helper token is only readied after opp 1 and 2 go

I guess what I am mostly hung up on is how combat plays out, like if I declare an attack, who is defending?

You send your stacks to either target and they each decide their blockers individually.

ahhhh okay. cool! I figure you can target more than one player, as long as it's one player per stack of course?

Yeah think of it like, this stack is attacking this player and this stack is attacking another player. Combat still resolves all at once like normal.

i really wanna try making a single player ruleset where you try to find the optimal moves against npc opponents but im not really sure how to go about doing that
