#Bodnar BU0386X Support

Hi All ,
My 737 Cockpit has a throttle quadrant that is based on a Bodnar BU0386X board. The elevator trim wheels are connector to an encoder ( Button1/2 ). I am finding extremely difficult to configure in Mobiflight. Is there anyone out there who has successfully achieved such a possibility?

You didn't say what your issue is. There is improved Bodnar support in the latest version.

If that does not help, please post in one of the Help & Support channels, on the left sidebar near the top.   • Your flight simulator and MobiFlight version, and the add-on aircraft you use
  • Details on what you are trying to do, and what does not work

Thanks for the advice
A couple of pics of my overall 737 cockpit and a close-up of the throttle quadrant that has a Bodnar BU0386X buried inside and supports all of its levers, switches, buttons etc as a normal joystick, no problem! The large elevator trim wheels are attached to a rotary encoder and hence not recognised as such by XPlane joystick assignments. I was hoping Mobiflight would fill in the gap, but it also doesn’t accept that the Bu0386x has encoders!

I guess the encoders in the bodnar board work as joystick buttons, so one for "trim up" and other for "trim down".

The USB HID encoders-via-button-events are limited with speed compared to arduino based encoders in MobiFlight, but I am wondering how fast the encoder turns on the trim wheel anyway, it might not be an issue in practice.

So if you create two input events, one for each trim direction, it should be possible to make it work by sending elevator trim commands to xplane. That depends on the aircraft events of course, whether it has "trim up" and "trim down" commands, but I would guess it does?

I assume the trim wheel creates OnPress and OnRelease events in MobiFlight? You can use the OnPress only and it should work fine.

For some inexplicable reason, Mobiflight refuses to recognise the existence of the BU0386X device when "scanning", even for levers or buttons, let alone Encoders, So one cant get past first base!

Found out why no BU0386X. Joystick support turned off in settings! Why it needs to be chosen at all is odd, obviously one wants to use ones joysticks
