as promised here is an update of my OEM A320 fire panel. The red pushbuttons have a little pcb inside the red button cap with 8 light bulbs(!), those light bulbs need a lot of energy, I can run them with my custom korry arduino board, but I noticed a significant voltage drop when these lights turn on. Appart from that, inside the switch are twopower circuits, so I would need two slots on my board for one switch.
Inside the switch is a second pcb which holds the pins for +5V DC and Ground for the bulbs. First I designed a custom pcb with 8 white LEDs and a single resistor, that fits into the button cap. On the back are two pin headers, top for +5V, button for Ground, the new pcb gets ssecured with the original screws of the button.
Next I checked with my voltmeter, which of the 4 cables behind the second pcb belong to one power circuit, I decided to remove the second pcb in total and attach the the cables to a female pin socket, that connects to the new designed pcb.
As you can see, the results are great, The button now has only one circuit for all 8 LED, the annunciator is way brighter than before and last but not least, I need way less energy with them.😌
