Exception "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80070422): The service cannot be started" | MobiFlight | Page 1

Whenever opening mobiflight i get the following exception: "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80070422): The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."

And it doesn't detect the board.

However using vscode or the arduino IDE I can flash the board just fine.

I'm using windows 11 if that is important and even tried builing and flashign the firmware myself (which did work but still didn't resolve the issue)

Any help is much appreciated

Ok, that's what I suspected. Your WMI repository is corrupt. We don't see it often, but when we have people had success fixing it by following these steps: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-repair-or-rebuild-the-wmi-repository-on-windows-10

that fixed it. Somehow the service got disabled...

We used to handle this properly but in a big code change it got lost. I'm opening a fix now to put the exception handling back in.
