a simple little question: is it possible to include comments in an MCC file?
And if so, what are the markers for these comments?

It's an XML file so yes, you can, but I doubt they will persist if you modify the file in Mobiflight then save it again.
Why do you want to add comments into the file? Generally people shoudn't be editing or looking at the mcc file contents

Confirmed: The comment in the mcc file does not survive a configuration save.
