What chip does it have? Is it Ch340? If yes, install driver for it

Where can I see the chip it has?

post a photo of the top of the arduino mega so we can clearly see the chips near where the USB cable plugs in

brazen spruce
#

it says ch340G

then install driver for it

Ok thanks

#

It worked, thank you guys

#

but now it says there were an error while updating the firmware

the little black thing next to the usb connector says ch340G

sick pebble
#

yeah, it looks like a genuine chip, thanks

#

I would try rebooting then try uploading the firmware

brazen spruce
#

Does not work

sick pebble

Do you have the Arudino IDE running? Or maybe Cura installed?

brazen spruce
#

I have the IDE installed but not running

sick pebble
#

Ok, let's make sure Windows sees it. Open Device Manager and expand the Ports (COM & LPT) section and post a screenshot

brazen spruce
#

uploading sketches in the IDE does not work too

Well at least it's showing up. Since it also doesn't work in the Arduino IDE there's not much we can do, sounds like a bad clone board. Just to be absolutely sure, let's see the logs from a failed attempt.

Bot is about to tell you how to get the log. Make sure you use the debug level, not info.

Please upload the entire log file following the steps in the wiki

Thanks. We can find the board but it looks like the firmware file is missing from your install. How did you download and install mobiflight?

brazen spruce
#

over the mobiflight website

sick pebble
#

Something isn't right, it thinks the firmware file is in the downloads folder. How did you install it?

brazen spruce
#

I installed the installer over the mobiflight website and installed mobiflight in a folder I created. After that I launched it

sick pebble
#

You can't change the install location using the installer from the mobile flight website. How did you get it in a folder you created?

brazen spruce
#

sorry, I it is not in a other Folder. It is in my Downloads

#

ok, never mind I somehow maneged it to work

#

idk how
