Recently the game became completely unplayable. As soon as I switch from game to another window and go back - I cannot do anything until the game is completely closed and reopened. All game modes go to some frozen state, when no data is being loaded (so can't enter any dungeon), if I am already in dungeon - it usually hangs sooner or later and enters infinite loading screen. Also, often the loading screen appears for no reason (even if game window was not touched), which results into disconnection with reason 299 (which is different from "normal" 401 (0x401)).

Hello 👋 Sorry to hear you're having an issue
Can I ask which device you're on? PC/Web/iOS/Android? Details like the version of your Operating System, your device model name and number (if mobile), and the version of the game you're running can help us to investigate
Android 12
Samsung Galaxy M51, SM-M515F/DSN
Build 2.4.764b235
Thanks! I'll get that shared with the team. In the meantime, it is recommended to have all other apps closed while playing Bit Heroes Quest. The online features of the game require some additional attention from the device that is running it, so having multiple apps open may increase your chance of encountering an error such as this.
I understand, but it was not an issue some time ago. It's not about other apps - it's enough to just lock the screen and (almost) all buttons inside of any game mode are disabled (see screenshot). And yes, I tried to reproduce this with all the apps closed - still the same result
So regarding this screenshot - I noticed one more detail. After the 10s CD - reset button becomes available. If I click it - "play" becomes enabled (but still cannot choose difficulty and rank/points not loaded).
After that I clicked play and team selection screen appeared as usual. BUT
When trying to enter the dungeon - infinite loading screen so I had to close the game. And after reopening - I was already inside the dungeon. So looks like the connection is working one-way - from client to server
Here is the recording of what I described above (just without the disconnection screen itself, since I would have to. Wait few minutes for that). Game reopening part was cut to make it shorter.
And turns out, the difficulty is locked to 1. I got literally 5 points for this run
Hmm, judging from your video, the issue might be that the game was minimized. Due to the online features mentioned before, this can cause issues for the game as it tries to stay in sync with our server 😬 Does this only happen after minimizing the game to the background? Or does it happen during regular play as well?
As I mentioned in first message,
- When minimizing,
- When locking the screen,
- Very rarely during afk for no reason - in this case I would need to observe it a bit more to be able to tell for sure, because I might have minimized the game/locked the screen back then
Ok, so I found the root cause. Battery saver 🙃
Glad you were able to troubleshoot the issue! Was that a battery saver app or a battery saver setting? That would be good to know in case someone reports a similar issue in the future
