I was in Jita and put the autopilot on, heading to a system on low, then I closed the game as usual and went to do something else while the ship went to its destination. Upon logging back in, I found this: my cobra was destroyed.

Does anyone have any explanation? Do you know if I can contact support?

According to other users, this is normal because the ship jump before logging off, meaning that when it reached the system in question, it jump before logging off, thus leaving the safe zone. I understand that it might work this way, but it makes little sense for the ship to leave the safe zone before logging off. Shouldn't the developers review that?

If this doesn't make sense in the first place, why look for "easy" solutions like the ones you mention?
It simply changes the ap so that it does not leave a safe zone to log out. 🤷🏾‍♂️

This is a stupid mechanic in the game and it's never really explained, so many pilots learn it the hard way.
But this is the mechanic for 6 years and devs will not change it - the impact on the game isn't that high to change.

Now you know and autopilot to a closest high sec system or a the station in low sec. There is a players who dedicated to catch the autopiloting ships near the popular mission locations.

I had warped a lot of times the 10 million kilometres, u know, every time I had lag and I have to reset Game, usually In there and warping back to the place I was

#

I thought to be in that spot was the same as being "logged"

#

But I assume this cases aren't like this, the character must remain Online and makes that "safe warp"

#

But do the Char remains there for ever until is catched or you come back?

I didn't know this even happen
