Game is stuck "running" and "stopping" on Steam | Spin Rhythm XD | Page 1

Didn't know how to tag this, sorry if Settings/Options isn't the right category.

Upon closing the game, Steam still says it's running indefinitely, and the same happens when clicking the big Stop button (it stays in the "stopping" phase indefinitely). My play time also keeps increasing as if the game is still open. I made sure the process is closed in task manager. I have to kill Steam in the task manager and then reopen it in order to relaunch the game.

Windows 10 Pro x64 on latest windows update
Steam is on the latest version
Game is on the latest version

does it close eventually after a fair amount of time has passed? I have a similar issue

usually takes about maybe 5-6 minutes?

It may be a syncing issue with steam

I've had this exact issue for about a year and haven't had any luck troubleshooting it in multiple attempts:

unlike @covert aurora , mine stays "running" indefinitely though...the only time it goes away is if I actually restart/shut down my computer entirely

Hello all, sorry for the late reply.
This issue is ongoing for me and I have now upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 with no other major system changes.
@covert aurora No, it does not close after any amount of time has passed. I have let the process run as "suspended' (according to Windows' task manager) and "stopping" (according to Steam) overnight and it has added an additional 8~ hours to my Steam play time.
@tame falcon I have not received any notifications about cloud status sync issues. I am not experiencing any syncing issues with any of my other Steam games, of which I have about 70 installed.
@grave shard I'm playing on an Inpulse 300 MK2 but the issue remains even if I just have my mouse and keyboard plugged in.

The only new update is that now, in Windows 11, attempting to close the process 'SpinRhythm.exe' gives the message "access is denied."
On one occasion I was able to force close Steam and reopen the game. On another occasion, I had to reboot my system to reopen the game.

@rapid pilot have you found any workarounds for this issue? I haven't found any processes or things that I could manually stop to get things to work either
