what's cool about this is that this is actually what determines you getting the Spin Genius/Spin God achievements: getting Spin God also automatically unlocks the Expert achievement as well
so you don't actually need to have a medal for every track to get Spin God, as long as you've completed at some point
which was very convenient for me lmao

sliders being on top of beatholds is kinda wonky with releases
though I like that wide sliders during beatholds are more readable now
New build is up with a fix to beat hold releases and Ricki's save bug. Turns out it was just because of overflow with the score being too big

I've noticed a problem with the input settings for a midi device: When manually entering a value for Wheel Sensitivity, if you hit the enter key the value resets to 0.
If you un-focus the control by moving to a different setting with the up/down keys or moving your mouse the entered value is saved 
Also I have to wonder why the value is now 100x larger than it previously was (ie a -30 value from the older version is now displayed as -3000)... Is there any benefit to us as players to be able to set such fine sensitivity values? It's a huge pain in the butt to adjust the value using the UI or keyboard +/- controls

Please please please, is there a way to disable the notes falling off the track? Its super distracting, and it still occurs even if you're only a little late instead of just missing.

the way the X moves across the wheel obfuscates the wedge positioning, where is in current build it kinda pops up above it, its hard to discern

I know a lot of rhythm games have notes that fall below the strike line, but most don't have information tied to the strikeline in the way that spin does

This also might be a bit out of place but, I guess this has been something that has been on my mind for a while. Since we have been officially out of 1.0, certain small changes made to gameplay like this can tend to be a bit annoying when especially without much notice. It's completely understandable in early access because I expect many things to change significantly. Updates and bug fixes are one thing but core things like this are quite jarring imo. Another example of this was the warning flashes on every miss as opposed to only when you were low in the last patch/update post 1.0
especially when we don't know whether something is a feature or a bug
I know itโs not a big deal to some people sometimes but itโs still something imo
well the damage feedback change wasn't anything that was unprovoked; people reported issues with how the game failed you out with seemingly no notice
and the update hasn't officially been pushed live, it's a beta so you would only know if it was changed if you played the beta or read the changelog once it was officially released
Well I didnโt say it was unprovoked but I am pretty sure that that change was not mentioned
- Improved damage feedback / audio effects for better clarity of when / why a note was missed
- Notes now scroll past the wheel when missed, making it more obvious what was missed
- Only bass frequencies will be removed when missing notes, and only very slightly
- The big X on the wheel has been replaced with a more subtle exploding 3D effect
- A DJ scratch effect will play when missing a note, based on the audio of the current track
- Can be turned on or off with โdisable audio feedback effectsโ in audio options

Similarly I think the Miss sounds are cool in concept but for me personally they cover up the music too much, especially when getting cluster misses, it just makes it even harder to get back into the pattern
yeah it's why i had to turn that sound off lmao, my biggest gripe is the red X because of how much it comes up the track now
The notes flying off is definitely an issue at higher note speeds, even when you're getting perfects they look like misses

yeah i still need to test out the newer update
New build coming that tweaks the notes so they don't fly wildly past you on the track at high speeds. Also added an option to have it only do the effect for match notes, which was the main note type I was hoping to improve.
quick quality of life thing I think would be nice for note skin selection
play the same color preview chart you get when changing colors also when picking skins
because for example to pick beats you have to wait until the very last note of the preview
and spins don't show up at all
so you're kinda guessing until you either play a chart or switch to accessibility tab

I actually really like this, It was mainly the sliders and spins that were distracting. I kinda like how it works with matches.
perfect+ rainbow effect is broken in menus for non-english again
also, the game seems to use raw mouse input now, which might be a good thing for most people but it completely messed me up because I don't have mouse acceleration anymore
any chance we could get different note skins on each direction of spin?
also wanted to say I really like how clean the menu looks for customization

Yep, still happening (on the Wheel Sensitivity setting):
If I enter a value with the keyboard and then hit Enter the value resets to 0.
If I use cursor keys to move away or hover somewhere else it will keep the value.
(the top Sensitivity value does not reset if you hit Enter after entering a value with kb)

There is some weirdness still with the value entry though... If you're editing the value and use Backspace to delete the characters it will not remove the last remaining number, and it doesn't remove the - symbol either. i.e.:
- value of
1234, hitBackspace4+ times, value remains as1 - value of
-1234, hitBackspace4+ times, value remains as-1
Also hitting Backspace without changing the value using the kb results in going back to the Settings menu

yeah that's what I'm thinking too - having it as an ambiguous all-in-one control with text entry plus the other styles (left/right buttons, clicking on the left half/right half to -/+, sliders, and mouse hold sliding) is making it hard to use

the little expanding menus you used for changing customization options would work fantastic for a lot of other places too. Things can be lumped together, such as in the track & hud options
eg. "Judgement Indicators" could expand into p+ color, judgement position, and max number
eg. "Miss Indicators" could expand into hud flashing at low health, edge of track flashing at low health, X indicator, notes flying past, etc.
this would also alleviate some of the clutter, especially if we continue getting more toggles

Nevermind yeah it's because of messing with defaultPlayerID lol
(for example in the skins menu my cursor disappears and MIDI menu navigation works as P2 because I set the playerID to 1)

LUFS is a measure of the average perceived volume of a track over time (as opposed to the peak value of whatever the loudest sound of a song is)
So it's possible for something like Ghost Ship or VOLT, or anything by Camellia (due to the way they are mixed) to be perceived as very loud compared with something like Time or Twist Sound which have the same peak loudness, but are much softer overall
I came up with a formula that takes the scanned LUFS reading of a track (using YouLean loudness meter) and applies a dB cut or boost to make all the tracks audibly the same
I've been wanting to do this for ages, but with PAX coming up it will stop me having to ride the volume knob on the speaker we use for 3 days straight
it means people can just play a track and it will always sound the same volume
I'm not sure how this will integrate with customs yet, but I'd like the process to be automated rather than relying on users to manually enter a LUFS reading when charting
and I don't want anyone who doesn't do this to have a disadvantage, volume-wise

I improved the sensitivity setting so that it defaults to what was previously set for the per type values.
not liking whatever changed the sensitivity for my turntable.. struggling to get it to not feel slow/laggy 
was it just sensitivity that was changed, or was something changed with input delay as well?
I'm using an Inpulse 200. Kinda feels close to how it used to by doubling the Wheel Sensitivity value (from -3200 to -6400), with Sensitivity set to 30 (unchanged from what it was before). It still feels a bit off though, more jittery or something due to the higher sensitivity :/
Changing the Sensitivity doesn't seem to affect it much either... 30 feels much like 100
the normal Sensitivity value does nothing on turntable
at least definitely not on the Inpulse 200

Sorry about the Midi bug! It is using the midi sensitivity value, but it's accidentally showing the mouse value in the settings menu.
