What happens if you don't call gamemode.stop() at the end of your app (Like if your app panics) ? Does the system stays in Gamemode mode or does it recovers gracefully?

it's fine to never call stop(); most games don't. gamemode is based on the PID so once the PID goes away, gamemode turns itself off AFAIK
