Here’s my new years tarot reading! My interpretation for each of the cards are here:

1. since it’s the four of wands, I feel like I’ve made lots of friends in the previous year, especially starting highschool and meeting new people, I’ve also hung out with friends a lot more last year.

2. Relating to the hanged man, I think I’ve learnt more about patience, for example there was a contest that had a long ways till a deadline for me to submit what I worked on to, but I was too excited for it that I didn’t take my time and waited to get more advice on it and submitted it way too early long before the deadline ended which costed me to not getting the contest.

3. I kinda didn’t really know how to interpret this lol

4. For this, I think having a really close friends or a teacher would help me accomplish one of my goals, or maybe even a tutor.

5. I interpret that I need to let go of something or just accept something to happen, bad or good, to continue to be able to reach my aspirations or else I’ll be at a roadblock

6. How I interpret this is that I could be having mood swings since I am going through adolescence, and also possibly envious of other things. With friendships, I might disconnect myself from my past friends because of meeting new friends which I already see myself doing because I feel that my connections with my past friends in middle school and new friends I’ve made in highschool are shifting, and I’m focusing on more of my new friends than my old friends, kinda like a turmoil

The only thing I could really get out of this is that for card 2 (tower reversed) I would go through a big shift in choices, and that overall it would lead to a transformation from this new path.

hm so the thing with lenormand is that iirc its built off the structure of playing cards already so you could sub them

however when looking at the difference of the reading types themselves:
in lenormand there are no "trump" cards, aka the use of the jack, queen, king, ace are all as equal as the other cards. With playing cards the trumps can hold an air of special importance much like the court cards of a tarot deck.

the other big difference is that a standard poker card set has 52 cards where lenormand cards only have 36 so you will be cutting quite a few out if you were to use them as lenormand which you can do!

the standard poker set has Ace, 2-10, then Jack, Queen, King
a lenormand set has Ace, 6-10, then Jack, Queen, King so each suit is "missing" the 2-5 cards

So after doing research I think with all the sun and magic symbolism it's going to the Egyptian goddess Isis...

So that tells me nothing but leans towards no for me.

10 of swords is probably the "scariest" card here, but it basically kind of points to despair or an unfortunate ending
Tbh I tend to gloss over judgement cause I can never really get a solid definition for it in my brain

But yeah all of that kind of adds together in my brain to mean something along the lines of "What are you doing to help achieve the outcome you want?" Magic can only do so much if you're not willing or able to put in some sort of effort toward the end goal

I'll go through the rest of the cards really quickly just so that way I can help out with the rest of the reading in that way

I'm currently low on energy so I won't be interpreting (sorry 💜) but I do feel like suggesting that when you do a reading if you are just gonna do one single question you do less cards, maybe 3 or 2 + a clarification card if needed, or using a spread (already existing or made up by you) with like guides of what each cards are aiming to (like present, future, intentions, expectatives or setting guiding small questions) because cards have a LOT of meanings and interpreting so many of them together for a single question can be tiring and confusing, which one you read first? is there a main one? etc, for example I like reading with a main card and then use complementary ones but if you don't have that in mind beforehand you can't expect the deck to know and neither can you just guess which one is the main one yk

like I said, it's just a suggestion from another person that does readings, you can read whatever way you feel comfortable with /gen

The nine of cups, in my opinion is something when specifically reading on this is that he views, you is something sort of like a reward for his improvement. like, because he's gotten so far and evolved as much as he has, he views you as sort of a prize in that way.

together theycould also mean that he may view you as a good partner financially

For the outcome card, I am not necessarily sure that this is a match made in heaven type of thing. But I do think that it could be something along the lines of this being a relationship that will eventually cause you and or him to change either internally or externally

This will also be a relationship that causes you or him to be able to trust intuition, more, instead of relying on looking towards others for answers.

If you’re referring to your minds eye, I wouldn’t recommend you forcing it to open because that can be potentially really dangerous if you’re not in a consistent stable place mentally + have a strong self concept. Imo your minds eye will naturally develop with time + more practice in meditation and divination

Things like aphantasia effect a large amount of the population, which is the condition where you cannot visualize in your minds eye.

Sometimes those things are blocked for a reason, as much as we’d want to push for it to open asap in order to see, there is such a thing as seeing too much. There have been a lot of cases where people will force it open and end up in some level of spiritual psychosis, so it’s really important to just be mindful and question why things are the way they are. You have an entire life for it to naturally open, it’ll come as you continue to practice

There’s ways to help aid and enhance your clairsenses through herbal work and crystals, but I wouldn’t recommend you doing rituals utilizing those same things to fully force your mind’s eye open

hm well aphantasia means you physically do not have the ability to use your minds eye.

So like it's "blocked" because you physically have a disability that blocks you from using that

these are issues that go beyond the spiritual and into medical conditions /lh

like there are definitely different severity of aphantasia (as its a spectrum) but if its "blocked" it might be a result of your physical medical condition not like a spiritual thing you can force open

This also means that you just might have to utilize other methods of being able to sense.

Touch, sound, smell, or taste might work better than putting all your eggs in the "visual" basket

Although the first one was also about these things in this card, it’s reflected more in you celebrating your accomplishments and doing so with your support system. It’s a basic sign to actively take joy and pride in what you have achieved instead of focusing on the parts that you could have done better.

These were the results I got from rolling for each question 3 times, since that's my general rule of thumb when it comes to dice divination:

Total reading question 1: Describe my day as a whole
Air dominated: mental, academic, anxiety, communication
Positive dominated
Lesson: New beginnings with divination, don't currently have control and that's okay, it will come with time. Keep practicing and the skill will develop naturally on its own. (Wheel of Fortune, High Priestess, ||Death||)

Problem: anxiety around how someone speaks and what they say, being out of sync with them (Thought, Diction, Song)

Basically I asked the cards if it was a coincidence that I saw my ex’s dad today. Out of all of the stores he happens to be at the store I was at shopping for seashells today, which knowing his dad is kind of weird. I’m still in the midst of a reconciliation spell with him so I’m kind of like I don’t know if this has anything to do with anything like it’s kind of weird but basically I just wanted to give the backstory so you can kind of understand a little bit more in depth

i think this just represents me being too scared to confess and tell him how i feel and am just letting time pass me by as i wait for him to notice my feelings or whatever

2nd is his feelings: six of cups (reversed)
this card was the only one in the entirety of the reading that i had to flip around to see. i think that it might be symbolic of future feelings being revealed? that some waiting or effort might be all it takes for things to change? idk

3rd card is the potential: 8 of cups in reverse
i think spirit is telling me that i need to get over myself and take a risk to reach the full potential of this connection.

4th is obstacles: 6 of swords in reverse
he has a hard time of letting things from the past go. i think staying in that headspace might be holding the connection back

5th is external influences: the moon in reverse and 5 of wands (2 came out and i just accepted them)
i’m not too sure about this one to be entirely honest. i think it has something to do with the fact that we’re in a very small community and that if we did get together we would be talked about a lot? idk tho

6th is the final outcome: ace of cups, knight of swords in reverse, and the hermit in reverse

Okay so I did some clarification on this and got mixed results that I'm not sure what to make of them

I asked if it was related to my parents, and it came up no, but then asked if I can and should trust my intuition as to who it's related to and it said yes

My gut instinct is that it is related to my parents

so the magician is about concentration communication and manifesting it's basically saying that you and your mind know what you need to do in order to be successful you just have to be willing to take the first step mentally which can in a lot of ways be reaching out or asking for help when needed

the nine of cups represents something like attainment and being content it ultimately when being in reflection of the body maybe that you are content with your current state physically even if mentally you're not 100%.

for Spirit the seven of wands means having courage taking challenges and being able to fight for what it is that you believe. this might mean that you will have to face challenges on your spirituality or through your spiritual self where Victory may not be 100% guaranteed but it's still worth fighting for especially if it means something to you

I have some religious trauma so that’s probably why my mind goes to that concept over “unlucky” or similar such things

so without knowing the other cards one thing that comes to mind is that the queen when reversed is a very domineering type of card. she's focused on her actions in a way that becomes both overbearing and unsustainable. she's also willing to burn out others in order to get to where she needs to go.

so I think that this is a cautionary card on: while you have the rest of your journey to get through the final destination should you get too deep into this overcontrolling mindset, could see you burn bridges of the people close to you through your actions.

So I asked the cards (a deck I use with Athena typically!) And I asked how I can find somebody. I think this reading essentially says "before you go searching make sure you know what you want out of this first"
Im just asking for extra clarity from yall!
The four of swords tells me the obvious: we dont like inaction and sitting idly but thats what we must do before we make a choice

The four of pentacles tells me your holding onto this greatly

it can in all actuality just means something along the lines of a very strong and valid partnership not necessarily romantic love.

the concept of the seven of cups is very much tied to self-destruction and overindulgence, which could mean that to this other person: you may be something that while strong in partnership is bad for their overall coping habits and desires.

i'm pretty new to tarot (practicing in a very loose way, just a major arcana deck, using tarot less in a divining way and more in a.... philosophical way? a mindfulness tool? unsure how to best articulate my thoughts) and have mostly been doing either 1-card single-question pulls or past/present/future spreads. pretty entry level stuff i guess.

tonight i decided to try a five-card spread (shaped like a +) about a relationship that's been a source of intense emotions for me lately, some good and some bad. I'm wondering if anyone might be able to provide their thoughts on it? bearing in mind that i'd prefer this not be interpreted in a super literal way, if that makes sense.

I guess what i mean is like. There are some practicioners- and I'm not shaming the practice just objectively some ppl prefer to use tarot in this way- treat it really literally. "This card means X is going to happen" or "This card mirrors this literal thing you should do."

I more prefer it in a sort of... "This card points towards this; here are some guiding questions based on it". So for instance vs interpreting death in a "present" slot, i would interpret it not as "I am going through a change" and more "what changes might i be experiencing right now?" kind of thing.

i'd rather my pulls not be interpreted as "This is going to happen this is hard factual physical stuff", more "here's some things this might be nudging you towards- what introspection comes to mind?"

I never necessarily go with literal but I do take the actual meanings of the cards into account when I'm reading so if I were to get something like death in a reading I would see as there is opportunity for change somewhere in my life that might be influenced by the possible loss of something not necessarily life but more along the lines of a change if that makes sense

oracle cards are used in pretty much the same way as tarot cards

however the difference is that there is no baseline method of reading with Oracle because every deck is based on individual concepts rather than tarot which tends to derive from a few staple kinds

pretty much this means that when you read with tarot you're going to have a baseline of answers that it gives you but when you read with Oracle you won't be able to ask people for help on how to interpret it unless they also have the same Deck with the same guide

so there are a few things that could be going wrong right

one it could be the thing or being that they're speaking with

two it could be something to do with the actual cards themselves

or three it could be that they are cleansing them so much that they don't have time to bond with the cards as there is no room for the cards to acclimate to their energy

there is a slight fourth option in that these cards just don't like them. which isn't fairly common but it can happen it's where you just don't Vibe with a deck and the deck doesn't Vibe back energy wise

so I'm going to give you options for all of the ways that this could be happening right:
if it's option one what they need to do is cleanse their space not the cards and see how that works I would also suggest maybe doing a banishing on the cards not specifically a cleansing

2 if it's the cards themselves I would look into something along the lines of a curse breaking to see if there's any kind of residual curse type energy on the cards

3 I would have them sit and bond with the cards instead of attempting to try to do divination with them maybe things like interviews or even just having them around to help them get acclimated instead of trying to use them right off the bat

and if none of the above work the fourth option might be what's happening and if that's the case then they may just need a different deck it may just be those specific cards not like the entirety of the occult deck. and sometimes this just happens because the decks energy itself isn't compatible with yours

I've realized that having a spirit guide who is a soulmate makes divination super easy. Once in a while I do tarot intuition tests where I shuffle a deck, lay it flat, and tell my main guide to pick out only Major Arcana. I only do this test once in a sitting because I don't want to make the cards warm and skew the results.

Last time I ended up getting about 12 in a row. (Honestly I suggest doing games like that to test your intuition). Doing readings with him makes the cards feel oddly magnetic. I've done other tests too where I've told him to touch cleansed jewelry on my altar and I guess which one he touched. Pardon my rambling but I just find this very interesting lol

Use a necklace you have as a pendulum and ask quick questions to it. Just any necklace you wear will be fine! (In Mediterranean folk magic we use gold necklaces as pendulums)

So I've never really tried getting into Tarot until recently. About 3 weeks ago, though, I decided to start drawing a single card each morning to get a glimpse of what the coming day had in store for me. It's been pretty hit or miss as to whether or not the card really resonates with how the day actually went. But the past 5 days have been interesting, not so much because the cards seem especially relevant, but rather because the cards seem really consistent. 5 days in a row of drawing wands, and on 3 of those day it's been the Knight of Wands in particular. (The other two days were the 5 and the Queen of wands.)

Now, I have a math degree and tend to be a really skeptically minded person, and I know that the odds of this are not impossible (no odds are impossible), and while I could be shuffling the cards in a way that somehow makes the top card land in a position that is more likely to reappear than random chance would have it, I really do think I do a pretty good job of shuffling 3 times and cutting the deck before each day's draw. This streak of wands with an emphasis on the Knight really strikes me as significant. But I don't know how to interpret it! I'm still too new with Tarot to make much sense of things except from reading the card descriptions in the booklet that came with the deck.

So I was wondering if anyone with more experience has any advice on how I should be interpreting this, or even what you yourself think it might mean. It's puzzling to me, but my intution says there is something here I need to pay attention to.

Now, the booklet I have (from the Robin Wood deck, if you care and are familiar with it) starts out by saying the Knight of Wands could signify "a journey" or "a change of residence". That almost seems relevant, but in a past sense. I move across country from Texas to Maine last month.

The other meaning listed is "practical action taken in spite of distractions". The only distractions I have at the moment are the same as always: spending too much time on Discord. 😄
The only "practical actions" I know that I need to take right now are just the things associated with moving: unpacking, getting rid of some things I no longer need, finding a new doctor, also dealing with school officials since I've decided to get a second degree and still need to register for classes. (Calling an advisor is on my to do list for today, as an example.)

But I'm not sure the interpretation of the cards is that obvious.

Yes, I do use reversed cards. In fact, when I cut the deck I reverse the portion I put on the bottom to make sure that gets mixed up too

Of the 5 draws I mentioned, the 5 of wands is the only one that was reversed

In relation to how your day may go/has gone: The 5 of Wands (reversed) may suggest that you’ve been facing struggles in passion and energy, but that with your new circumstances you are on your way to knowing that You are enough! Trust in your decisions and follow what makes you passionate, not what others may think is better for you.

With it being in the order of Knight, 5, Knight, Queen, and Knight, I think you are incredibly Driven lately and are becoming a lot more self-assured and self-confident in the path you’re taking!

If this doesn’t resonate, though, I would suggest looking into other definitions of the cards that may go more in depth, and see if anything in particular stands out to you!! The best way to practice is to draw your own conclusions and follow your own intuition, BUT I hope I was able to help give any insight

Actually that does resonate quite strongly with my life currently. Since February I've gone through a lot of personal growth, including dealing with or at least acknowledging trauma leftover from childhood. I had my first, uh, "intimate encounter" to keep it PG, in more than ten years, I discovered a new hobby that I really like, I sold my house and moved 2000 miles across the US, I've made a lot of new friends, I've resolved to start dating again after a decade, and I'm also about to start college to get a second bachelor's degree! So yeah, it's definitely fair to say "you may lead a busy life, and that you’re making connections with others". 😄

So all of what you said really makes sense to me

That’s a load of great achievements!! and a LOT to be proud for :) I’m really glad to hear you’re doing good for yourself and learning to live a life all your own!

Just note that all that change in such a short amount of time does require processing! Don’t get so lost in the Busy that you neglect the self-care

Oh I know it! I've been deliberately doing self care things the past few months, and even started seeing a therapist to talk about some of the old trauma that has come up again.

Does anyone have any reccomendations for good books on the meanings of the cards and how to interpret them? I know there are online resources, and I already have access to those. I am specifically looking for books to add to my library, though, because I much prefer the permanence and physicality of a book to the fleeting nature of a website.

so ive never like found this as a solid book before but it might be available as an ebook thats been scanned in your local library
