It would be cool to have a type of magic that comes from your hands or like a glove? Maybe you could use like gestures or something like holding triggers in a defensive stance could create a transparent shield or something, I don’t know but I think it could be really cool

Good base concept. Shield is kinda ruled out, but making it based on hand position would be neat. Would need a bit more of a theme tho imo, just so it doesn't feel like a "we had some more spells that didn't make it into mage, so have a second mage class".
