Now I now your thinking, “dude. WE ALL READY HAVE CROSSBOWS”, and yeah that’s true but I like bows more than crossbows which the exact reason why I’m making this.

So to start off, bows will NOT automatically get an arrow then you pull onto the string because I think that’s a little more broken than just pulling out of your back and loading it up on the string. Bows will do about 6-7 damage (idk how much) damage and you start off with 12 arrows, you kill enemies with your melee weapon (idk what the melee weapon should be but it’s up to you) to gain 2 more arrows. Yeah that’s all, I could add more but you wanted to keep it pretty simple so bye!

EDIT: The melee weapon shall be a hatchet doing 4-6 damage and perhaps be used as a ranged move too. Also I like Haddock’s idea as well as Step’s idea so here is the message link. Haddock: #1325517775896051815 message

With people like this it’s not about if they were dropped on their head as a baby, it’s about how many times it happened

the weapon “combo” for this could be bow & arrow as the arrow could be used as a weak melee

#

and pulled from a satchel

bow x a small double sided axe

serene garden
#

Nah

#

Bow + Arrow all the way

bronze agate
#

like as opposed to the dull boring rec room bow

#

the advr bow would be cool

#

and pulled from a satchel or quiver

#

i haven’t played rec room in 2 years btw

Using an arrow as a melee weapon doesn't work with the mechanic OP suggested, though

#

and I kind of liked the mechanic

#

Though I would raise the base damage, considering the massive limitation

#

also I think using an arrow as a melee weapon realistically is a very desperate move

#

Also to avoid locks in any scenarios that demand range, I would also have a free, slow arrow regen if you're down to nothing

#

So what melee weapon would work? I feel like thematically it almost has to just be a dagger

#

Can we have a dagger twice? Is it illegal?

#

I KNOW WHAT IT SHALL BE…

#

the melee weapon shall be

#

a hatchet

hi

guys it’s been decided I think a hatchet as the melee will do the job

#

It will do 4-6 damage and maybe also work as a ranged weapon

The Bow should have no AOE, but do more damage then crossbow on direct hits. That way it’s different from crossbow. Biggest thing with crossbow is that you don’t have to be accurate to use it with the AOE, but the Bow could reward accuracy by doing more direct damage

The high-skill version of aoe

indigo bronze

That sounds cool. I think the bow should have 3 max arrows if it has that. They could return automatically on hit, but if you miss you gotta go grab it yourself

#

So it rewards you for being more accurate that way too

I feel like the crossbow was meant this way, because if you stick a bolt into an enemy, you're likely to get it back soon (because the enemies generally come to you)

#

if you miss, you'll have to walk past the enemy to get it

#

I like the idea of killing to gain arrows but I think it makes too little sense, it's too abstract and not using familiar things

#

But maybe they could power up arrows?

jolly imp
#

but except that, the idea is absolutely awesome and I totally want this in the game

how about as you move your hand closer to the bow, it will appear and increase in size until it reaches its normal value, and then you can put it on the bow and pull on the string

#

I think this is a good middle ground between pulling an arrow from like a back pouch which can get annoying, and not being too similar to a crossbow where the arrow flies back straight to the weapon
