Here's some of the stuff a friend potion can do:
What does a friend potion do: when potion is thrown on enemy they follow you and protect you at all costs
How many enemies can you have with you: you can have up to 1 so it's not too overpowered( if you try to throw the potion on a different enemy, the previous one you had will attack)
(Just to clarify you cannot use it on any of the boss)

Maybe have it highlight it in a specific color or have the name of the friend and it's health bar so you don't friendly fire
Hell, make it so you can give it food for certain friend/enemies so it can heal

What about an item that the first enemy you kill in a floor will become a freind im saying this instead of a potion because after the floor is done you can't bring the freind to the next floor (sorry i might be missing something on what happens when you the boss of the floor)
