#Multiplayer features and additions…

With the upcoming multiplayer update that is soon to come, I have thought of a couple additions that are necessary in the success of multiplayer for this game.

Cosmetics
This one is self explanatory, but the way we should get them should not be predatory in terms of how every other game does it. If we have to pay extra money for cosmetics on a game we already payed money for, that puts people off and is a no go for most people, and while it may make an extra buck, it makes your game less respected among the community. You can look at games that already do this for an example of backlash from it, such as the newest Call of Duty’s, or Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Siege.

Instead, cosmetics should be earned through the milestone system. Having cosmetics be earned every time you hit a new milestone will not only push players to complete the milestones, but also gives players flexing rights in multiplayer. Whether that new cosmetic be slime armor for killing a certain amount of slimes, or a glowing sword for breaking a certain amount of glowing objects, it gives players a way to express themselves and show what type of player they are to other people.

Dropping Items and Loot
When it comes to loot in ancient dungeon, it’s always in the form of relics or upgrades. If you are heading with the route of making the relics work in the way of “the player who picks up the relic, gets the ability” then having a way of dropping relics to other players would be a good idea. If not, then the dropping of coins, or keys should be allowed too, and should not be shared. Let’s put an example of this into play. One person might be doing significantly better than the other. One person has 200 coins, while the other has 16. The person with 16 coins wants to be able to buy something on their own, instead of having the person with 200 buy it, and then throw it to them. So, then the person with 200 coins drops a bit; the other player buys what they need, and then not only are both players happy, but also the person with 200 coins saves some this way.

Server Hosting
Server hosting of any kind should be reserved to players who are connecting across country, or players who have not the best connection if there is server hosting at all.

Conclusion
All of these additions I feel would be worthy to be looked at and implemented to increase the enjoyment of the upcoming multiplayer update. As the update itself will already be very enjoyable because well… it’s multiplayer, but I feel specifically the cosmetics and self expression could make a whole difference in how people play the game with others. Also for the cosmetics, having them be based off of the milestones themselves would be a cool idea. I thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day / night / afternoon.

i'm pretty sure Erthu said that cosmetics will not cost additional irl money (aka all unlockable in game) but I can't find the message

Also there's gonna be a bunch of settings including letting players share coins and stuff (said in #📘│devlogs )

I kind of hope relics only stay as one person getting them. If two people get all the same relics they’ll eventually become unbeatable

Well I mean, what’s more important at that point if they can make it far enough to collect all the relics? Balancing? Or letting the players feel like bad asses?
