#OBS audio not working

My OBS audio appears to be stuck in disabled, in the settings. There are no options to enable it, and google seems to be turning up nothing. Any ideas?

mac os and obs version updated to the latest?

there may be differences between intel and apple silicon cpu

read the system requirement for that feature
