#Capture card not sending audio through to the monitor

hello! I picked up a Atomos Nexus4K 2 days ago (cost me 100$ too so oof) and I want to stream my switch!

however I cannot hear ANYTHING...but everyone else can? when I test recordings the audio goes through flawlessly and the only way I can hear it is going into windows sound settings and enabling "listen to this device"

however...doing that makes the mic play it too which muddles the audio from when I speak...
in OBS (I don't use it but the tutorials show this as the fix) you can set audio outputs! including "output audio to desktop/stream"

am I blind or is there a setting in twitch studio to do this?
also is there a way of setting up a dedicated lagless popup window for capture input and have the rest of the stream layer show up in stream? (like border windows/Vtuber avatar)

if it shows up in a webcam layer, the audio won't go through. if it comes through screen share layer, you have the option to route it to "desktop audio"

so I have a bad capture card then...

#

why is there no audio input funtion then? that would solve the issue too

because it's under webcam. not sure if there is another way to bring in the sound. check windows side?

#

maybe voicemeeter can help with this. don't use advanced audio mixer

Voice meter should help with that. Set your capture card as output aux1 (as long as windows sees the capture card) Then set your twitch studio to use the voice meter virtual sound card that aux1 is using.

I managed to get the sound working in a weird way!

I had to have my webcam setup and running in twitch studio first! then I plug in the capture card and after going to the "Control Panel" and going to "Sound" to get the tiny window with the devices listed...I went to the recording tab to the "digital audio interface" as the capture card liked to call itself...and then turned on "Listen to device" in the properties with the "default playback device" enabled

#

it sounds super weird but I don't have any audio twinning anymore!

#

but seriously I hope twitch studio makes a "audio input" system for the webcam styled capture cards!

nice.

this does not work for discord however...not sure if I should bail on the capture card and get a better one or not

was there anything wrong with the card?

well it heats up very fast...and having no screen-share capabilities is a pretty bad thing...plus for 100$ the amount of fiddly stuff I have to do just to get a half decent play is kinda a red flag as the video lag is horrible

#

I cannot change the settings at all so its just 1080/60fps all the time with no switching to 720 for saftey

I see. it's your choice. supported cards are listed on the website. let me find it
