okay tried to link a clip for reference but got warned smh lol..
are you talking about chat layer in "edit scene" or in-game overlay
in-game overlay is just for you
a scene layer sorry. it was working just fine 2 days ago, but then 2 clips last night got nothing
and for reference, it's not hidden or anything. I haven't changed a single setting.
does it show on stream?
I want to say yes, and when I send a test message while offline it shows in my preview, but honestly I'd have to test quickly to be 100% sure
alright, so I ran a quick test. and apparently after hiding and unhiding the layer it's now showing... saved a clip, sure enough it shows now. thanks anyways, feel free to close or archive as you please.
Okay, quick update for the dev team, idk who all this server reaches but yeah, this seems to be an ongoing issue.
on the 9th after I did that test, my 3 minute vod has the chat feed showing, but I just noticed my actual stream later that night once again did not. so something is causing that specific scene layer to break functionality.
!bug please submit a bug report
How to submit a bug report
- If you're in the app, "Help" button is in the upper right, then choose "Report a Bug"
- Alternatively, you can click the hamburger menu in the very upper left corner, then click Help > Report Bug
- Please give us as much information as possible - describe in detail what is wrong and what you've already tried
will do. I believe it's a start-up issue where it's auto hiding the layer upon initial start up. so I'll run a couple test streams to verify that and then submit the report for you. Thanks.
Have you been able to consistently reproduce? I tried adding a chat layer and it works as expected through reboots. To fix you hid it then unhid it using the "eye" button in the layer list on the layer?
yeah I sent in a bug report with a bunch of things I've tested. it seems to be something out of my control, because no test has had replicable results.
hiding and reshowing the layer worked once, restarting my PC sometimes works, deleting and remaking the layer works for a while but it always bricks again. the only thing I could think at this point is there's an integer limit that's being hit and the overflow is bricking functionality.
and even then, I can't see that. because my chat isn't exactly busy lol. it's almost like the layer is just turning itself off after a while.
