Regardless of whether I try to capture the whole screen or the app itself, it just keeps that same wavy initial screen.

#

your discord won't let me paste a screenshot

My capture is showing as black

  • Make sure your OS is up to date
  • If your game is running on Vulkan or in admin mode (even if not, you might want to try this anyway), you should install the Admin Application Access In the Screen Share section where you choose what to capture, at the top is a prompt to install the Admin Application Access.
  • Black only on viewer side. Change your encoder. Intel QuickSync may not work with your setup.
  • If you're trying to capture a fullscreen game, the game needs to enter focus / be foregrounded at least once.
  • Try opening the game first and then Twitch Studio, or vice versa.
  • After Twitch Studio updates, a system restart might be required for Twitch Studio to capture correctly.
  • Some weird setups will require Twitch Studio and the game to be on the same monitor.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Some video cards have an issue where the game won't show up in the preview, but will show up in the stream or recording.
  • If the above doesn't work, submit a bug. Desktop capture may be a viable workaround.

My capture isn't black, it's the initial screen when you first install. I tried entire monitor, but no. i have two 4k screens and two 1080. it shows the 1080 entire screen but not the 4k screens

Move twitch studio to the monitor and see if you can capture it

#

Did you try setting your game to window mode?

The game has a base app where you can adjust settings and then the pvp game launches in a separate app. I can get the base app to show in the stream preview when I toggle compatibility capture, but not the pvp game itself
