#Potential solution for baseball pitcher spam

We all know the drill: Kim(s), baseball pitcher spam alongside other traps, not much you can do about it.
Here's my proposed solution: New item in the shop, somewhat expensive, that functions similarly to an EMP - when thrown, it disables all enemy baseball pitchers in a moderate radius for around 10 - 15 seconds.
Honestly though, having one type of defense that is so strong it requires a fully new item to counter it doesn't seem very healthy for the game. So alternatively, just nerf baseball pitchers (such as lower health, less can be placed at once / in close proximity to eachother, etc.)

I don't hate the idea of an EMP grenade but that could easily just be saved for a charcter. The pitchers have been nerfed enough already to the point you can only get 10 and are 20-30% weaker than before. The issue is 100% skill issue, people r not using their heads properly.

Literally one seagull-130 can wipe out an outdoor nest from massively safe range at a safe cost. A granny with ult can wipe rooms out at a time with invulnerability etc etc.

If you go changing stuff like this too quick players will never get a chance to learn/adapt. The playspace is pretty good as is we should see a drive towards adding more not neutering what little we have already imo.

100% agree I really hope they don’t nerf stuff left and right and give people time to learn the game and adapt to how to succeed

I agree that there are counters, but Doreen isn't always going to be on your team, and you shouldn't be forced to bring a character just to deal with a very broad/general strategy

Over all I think we do really need something to destroy structures in a radius, that doesn't deal a ton of damage but still is barely enough to get rid of turrets. Some devs agreed previously that some kind of grenade-like item would be a good idea, iirc

Its also the case that you NEED Kim to enable the Pitcher strats as she's the only character that has the ability to repair these traps. I think you really should have to 100% consider your picks and have certain characters dominate their respective niches.

I think a grenade is a bad idea to balance its hard to get the risk vs reward right, it should only harm players and be a mystery box item then it'd be pretty cool.

Yeah but thats like

How you defend the base

And make it hard to break your stuff

The literal foundation of the game

We don't want rush simulator

Thats the worst outcome for the game

well yes but it still needs to be possible to enter a room with baseball pitchers in it for anyone but doreen or chad

#

actually louie is also good for it

iirc Louie's level 10 ability is very good at destroying structures

His level 10 is a whole diff discussion

Finding a good spot for a baseball pitcher is one of the most rewarding aspect of defending because you can farm noobs who don’t get creative and try and take different routes to solve a problem. People need to learn the houses and where each destroyable is and I think their life would be a lot better knowing that funny little room with baseball pitchers aimed at the door could be entered by going through the window (rough example)
