I don't know what you were using, but the bird head shape and wings are impressively shaped.

Thanks...I used a picture of her crown and masking tape to get the size and shape of my head and the crown.

I did use jewelry pliers for the shaping.

I do want to level up the look and placement of the beads.

I like yours but I had a look at the ones online. They seem to have the wings more filled in. I think the easiest way to get the same look might be to look for a fabric applicae. The feathers look like the petals of a peony or maybe a chrysanthemum. They should come in silver, and you can glue gems on. Of course you can also Dremel up some pva foam to look like it. Yoga mats are usually cheap at the goodwill. I attached a picture of one of my other projects in case you needed inspiration to use chain mail.
