A simple tunic that I made today, inspired by a picture of one of the finds in Herjolfsnes (Greenland) that I came across yesterday.

It's not an exact copy, but pattern is roughly the same (I couldn't do the exact pattern due to size and shape of material that I had). Basically, the original piece had both sleeves and gussets made from two pieces, while mine has only one gusset made from two pieces and other gusset and sleeves are made from a single piece.

I'll work on it a bit more later on and will add some decorations to it, but I'm still not sure what exactly will I do. I'll definitely make a seam around the collar to prevent it from stretching out, but I'm still on the fence if I should just use the green thread or if I'll take a different thread and double it up as a decoration.

When I made a shirt, I did a fancy stitch around the collar that doubled as a fancy decor, and I really like it. Really cool tunic, I like the color.

Thanks.
I was thinking about a fancy stich of some kind, but I didn't do any embroidery before so I'm looking for ideas that look nice, but are relatively easy to do by hand since I don't have a sewing machine

I did this one by hand, it was pretty easy. I don't have the shirt near me, but here's a diagram. This was made using a backstitch, and I just went around the shirt twice, that's the two threads.

Awesome, thank you. I'll try it out on a scrap piece first and if I get the hang of it I'll try it on the tunic as well

K, and if you need any more help, I can film a quick vid on how I did it. Always happy to help!

I'll try it out tonight or tomorrow when I get the chance and I'll let you know if I can't figure it out (and im guessing that if i can't that it will be an user error lol). Thanks for your help, you're the best.
