#A way to train eye focus?

May not be the right thread (sorry Mud).

When I lose focus I loose sight of the crosshair and sometimes don't find it again because I'm looking at the enemy and not my crosshair. This leads to gunfights where I'm locked in on an enemy and tracking them as though my camera center is somewhere other than my crosshair, which obviously leads to missing. If I try and find my crosshair mid fight, I have to stop looking at the enemy briefly, find my crosshair, flick back onto them and recover my tracking, which takes long enough to lose the fight.

It's partially because I'm shortsighted and not wearing glasses, but I can't afford a pair rn. The game has preset crosshairs that can't be modified, so I can't make the crosshair thicker and there's no preset that's working well for me rn. I don't want third party crosshairs, because a mechanic makes colour confirmation when looking at an enemy important.

I think I can mitigate it if I improve my general focus and maybe do some eye training. How would you go about it?

Splitgate 2. There are preset crosshair shapes and I can change it to any colour (I have bright green > white when looking at enemy). Can't change the thickness or size

It's just updating, I'll get an ss in a moment

#

There's no outline so I can't get a colour that keeps it prominent for every setting too

@polar matrix i think you can try changing the sight color to red, cyan or yellow or buy a third party program on steam - Crosshair X or HudSight

#

Personally, I don't really look at the sight itself, I just keep the enemy in the center of the screen feelsthinkman

default, diamond, and diamond 2 look good to me

#

might want to change the color to something more visible compared to the maps/background

#

the outsides of diamond and diamond 2 both are larger and might be easier to pick up on

#

You still want to overwhelmingly be focused on the other player or target and more subconsciously matching up the reticle with their model

I thought the diamond ones would be good too, but for some reason the lines are much thinner, so I struggle to see them. I am on a laptop so my screen isn't that big, which may be worsening the issue.

The problem with colour is that its such a vibrant game, I cant find a colour that works for all maps and I dont want to change colour every single map. The crosshair doesnt have an outline so there's no contrast

I often like to use magenta

#

partially because I like the color, but also because a lot of games I play have green for grass or something else

#

the downside is if there's a lot of red then it doesn't stick out as much

#

also, as another point to the secondary crosshair idea, in most games you won't have player overlap confirmation on the reticles, so using a third-party reticle would help you at least learn to not rely on that mechanic

#

yes, it wouldn't be as good

this is what i mean saturation
sometimes its named hue, sometimes digital vibrance

#

i boosted this on my monitor and every color is much more visible, tho for example reds and dark red - aint that much distinguishable

how do you get to that menu on win 11?

woah thats funky, let me play one and get back to you

#

Everything looks ugly as shit, but I am shooting straight now

#

Actually nvm, it was fine in the first mode I tried, but on the next one the map and obj colours were just too much, they got in the way of seeing whats going on
