Essentially, the portals are items you can find in a chest or lying around.

Yes with the potential addition of also offering each portal as a check. It should be possible to have the shadow beasts spawned in for each that are normally skipped.

That would actually be pretty neat

Opens for stuff like getting AG portal or SP portal without getting Auru or Reekfish

Well actually the AG thing wouldnt work because you need to discover the region first

Theoretically couldn't the rando force the region to be discovered immediately when starting the game or when the portal is opened? (Sorry for the necro but I also like this concept)

That could also give access to Lanayru without explosives or gate key
