Binding the HDZero Goggle backpack and the transmitter backpack should happen automatically if they were both flashed with the same binding phrase.

If you need to bind them manually:

  1. On the HDZero Goggles, navigate to the Connections page and select Start Backpack Binding. The goggles will wait for a bind message.
  2. On your RadioMaster GX12 transmitter, open the ExpressLRS Lua script and select the [Bind] option. This sends the binding pulse.
  3. The goggles should indicate a successful bind.

The 3x power cycle method is disabled for the HDZero Goggle backpack. You must use the bind button in the goggle menu.

You can verify the bind by checking the UID displayed next to the Start Backpack Binding button in the Connections page on the goggles after a successful bind. The WebUI for the backpack does not display the binding phrase directly.

hmm I reflashed everything and it still won't work. I thought the UID displayed in the goggles was my bind phrase, but it is not. my bind phrase ends with 131 but this ends with 24,0 so maybe the UID isn't tyhe bind phrase?

I tried reflashing with no binding phrase and that didn't work.
So I went back to firmware with my binding phrase in it.

What indicators are there on my radio and also my goggles that the backpacks are bound to each other?

I thought I could check this was working by plugging in a receiver and having a servo on channel 6 and telling el elrs head tracking to start at AUX1 but my servo did not move even though I had head tracking turned on and the backpack turned on.
