Building a TinyTrainer with ELRS.
FC: BetaFPV 4S F405 AIO v5
ELRS: Radiomaster RP1
Controller: Boxer
I have a similar setup on all my race drones, (except for the FC/ESC) and never had any problems setting them up in Betaflight.
This AIO has a connector for the RX using UART 3.
This AIO has a connector for the VTX using UART 4.
So plug and play!
So I used 4 pre-crimpted cables, soldered one end to the RP1 and put the other end in a 4 slot plastic plug that fits in the AIO Rx connector.
Rx to Tx, Tx to Rx, as in all my other drones.
ELRS got power, so I was able to update with firmware 3.4.3, and updated the binding phrase. So same setup as my other drones.
RP1 successfully bound to remote (solid green light)
In betaflight
- set up serial Rx to UART 3
- set up VTX (MSP + Displayport) on UART 4.
- essentially used the same setup as with all my other drones, except for the ports above.
- set up all the motors, everything running smoothly
- set up the Nano90 camera, works great with HDZero goggles
- Telemetry is on, serial mode, crossfire setup.
But I cannot control any of the elements in the receiver tab with my remote.
I am at a loss. The plug seems fine, but will try another UART by soldering the ELRS directly to the AIO tonight instead of using the plug.
Am I missing anything here? Although it's a new type of FC I have never used before, everything else is the same hardware and software setup as all my other drones.
Is there something to specifically check for with this board, or with AIOs in general? It's v5, so the latest generation. Its my first AIO.
