Hi guys, im new here and with elrs, i just completed set up a BNF Geprc Cinelog35 with elrs and take a test flight today. But im only getting 20
-30 meter range before getting RXLoss status and the failsafe kicks in.

Here are my setup:

  • Jumper T20s at 250 mw, 250 Hz, 1:64 telem ratio
  • Arming on aux 1
  • both tx and rx on 3.3.2 Firmware

Heres the recording:

Just realized that even im close to the drone the rssi is very low.

What did i do wrong?

Do a !benchtest and put RSSI dBm in your OSD, not RSSI

And show some clear photos of your receiver and antenna

I'm getting -70 dBm at 25 mW on bench test

One or both antennas are broken and/or there is a hardware issue

Here’s the antenna

Show the receiver itself

#

Do you have any other ELRS TX or RX?

thorny slate
#

Here’s the rx

#

Not at the moment, but will try to borrow other RX

Can you put the receiver in WiFi mode and show a screenshot of the !webui

You want the GEPRC Nano 2.4GHz PA100 RX target

#

You probably have the regular Nano target flashed

thorny slate
#

it's currently on Generic ESP, will try to flash the PA100

#

I’ve dlashed the PA100 still getting -70dBm

#

Turn out i have a spare RP4TD RX, and getting the same result

#

Is this indicating that i have faulty TX?

HA! The antenna was not connected now im getting -20 to -27dBm which is far better right?

Oh btw, since it was unplugged since the day i bought and i have turn it on a couple of minutes long during setup. Sinc im powering up the TX with the antenna not connected, Will it damaged the module?

Possibly, although your bench test result is good. Keep an eye on it, but I think it's mostly ok
