#ELRS, multiple Tx, multiple drones, same binding phrase, flying simultaneously?

I’ve got a handful of different drones and multiple transmitters for them. They’re all running with the same binding phrase.

For my usual usage, I want to be able to grab any one of my transmitters and any one of my drones and just slap batteries in and fly. The setup above works great for that.

What I want to be able to do, but can’t figure out yet, is how to lend one of my transmitters and one of my drones to someone else while I fly another pair, and both of us fly simultaneously without interference.

I’ve tried experimenting with Model Match, but I might be missing something because it seems to work only intermittently and depends a lot on the order I power the transmitters.

I’d be open to using Loan/Return, but that feels like it’d break my usual use case of “every Tx and Rx uses the same binding phrase”.

Has anyone got this arrangement working? Is there a reliable series of steps I should follow to get Model Match to work how I want? I’m hoping for something like:

  • Tx1 power on
  • Tx1 model select to receiver 1
  • Rx1 (model match receiver number 1) power on
  • Tx2 power on
  • Tx2 model select to receiver 2
  • Rx2 (model match receiver number 2) power on
  • Everything works

Or, given that this is definitely not how Model Match was meant to be used, is there another way to get the behaviour I want from these transmitters and receivers?

That won't work. Easiest thing to do is just set/change the binding phrase in the !webui

You can also have 5 different TX binding phrases, and loan models

#

Have it all bound to the first TX, then have your other TX loan it from your first TX

A bit more clicking but it gets it done
