I have flashed both my radio tx module (r9m lite pro), and my r9mx receiver to ELRS, got a success message from both. Set radio to crsf protocol, Identical bind phrases are set. ELRS Luascript is working, however it shows a "-" where there should be a "C". Will not bind. I have also tried manually pushing the bind button on my tx. RX has a broken boot button, but was flashed usong the no-button boot loader, and yes i also flashed elrs after the bootloader, using BF passthrough. My RX is on newest OpenTX, rx is running newest BF Firmware. I have followed the ELRS wiki and troubleshooting. No dice. Do yall think my RX might be DOA or something? the LEDs light up when i first plug it in, but immediately they turn off and stay off.

Just get a proper ExpressLRS Receiver (or a TX as well while you're at it)

I personally don't recommend to anyone using the R9 hardware for ExpressLRS at this point. I'd rather have users support manufacturers that make ExpressLRS hardware.
Old and beaten up R9 hardware would often cause more headache to users, and they would tend to think it's because ExpressLRS is shit while it's their hardware that's turned into shit all those years of abuse..

The radio is a R9 X-lite Pro (Literally never been bound to a drone), with R9M Lite Pro Module, and the RX is a R9MX that has also never been bound. I built this drone like 2 or 3 years ago, still have never flown it, after wasting hundreds of dollars building it. One day I decided to pick it up again and try to get it working. Stumbled upon ELRS, heard it can be done with my existing hardware, and decided I had nothing to lose. Did some research, and began flashing firmware to hardware. Followed all the steps on the wiki, with help from youtube as well. When Everything seemed to work as expected, I still have no bind. And btw I am a newb to drones, but I have been into RC cars for years, so I'm not totally clueless when it comes to RC... As I have spent over $300.00 just on the dang remote, and TX module, that literally have never been used except on a sim, I think I'll hang onto the TX setup, and hopefully the new RX I have coming in the mail will finally get me flying. Oh, and to anybody reading this, I DO NOT recommend trying to flash ELRS onto an R9M Lite Pro, unless you are very confident in your ability to solder incredibly tiny connections that are super close together, you cannot flash it the same way as other modules, it must be done by soldering, and connecting to an ST Link V2 unit, disabling readout protection, and then flashing, de-soldering, and then reassembling the unit. PAIN IN THE A$$. Anyhow wish me luck, and in the meantime, if anyone can think of something I may have overlooked, let me know please! Thank you.
