No channel movement in BF with upgraded and bound TX-RX

Sorry, my first attempt at this!

Both tx/rx should be running 3.1.2, same bind phrase, they appear to bind properly, I set up serial rx/receiver stuff in BF...
Input and mixers are copied to a new model where I've turned off the multi module in my Zorro and switched to CRSF there too
I used the matching v3 lua script to confirm they're both at 3.1.2 and showing as bound/controllable using the script

Will take the baby ape pro back apart to recheck the wiring but other than that... am I missing something dumb?

Just a dumb question: about your soldering, did you wire the receiver's RX pin to your FC board's Uart1 TX pin? (and RX also "crossed" vice versa)? Because if not, that would explain your FC doesn't receive data. As shown in the picture from @silver surge

I did in fact (or believe I did properly). Will double check it!

Excellent news: I'm dumb!

Even after KNOWING and "DOUBLE CHECKING," I still somehow managed to solder tx to tx, rx to rx

I swapped em this AM and I now get channel movement from my bound Zorro in Betaflight

Configuring some last settings and then taking it for its first flight
