#VTX Admin and backpack does not work
1 messages Β· Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Do you have SmartAudio/Tramp configured properly on your FC? Does the Betaflight VTX tab report "Ready" when you have a battery plugged in?
Well as I wrote - backpack wifi doesn't appear on module, I flashed 1.1.0 backpack firmware via UART. I did switch dip switches from 1,2 to 3,4 before flash, did push 82GPIO then 82RST, released RST then GPIO, it flashed sucessfully.
But still no backpack wifi or functions work
Smart audio works correctly, it's "Ready"
And i did put dip switches back into normal 1,2 position after flash
If SmartAudio is working properly then you should be able to change channels on the VTX at least, as the backpack isn't used at all
What Telemetry ratio are you using?
1:64
Are you making changes with the arm switch disarmed?
Can you change VTX channels from the BF OSD menu?
Then VTX admin should at least be able to change channels
Can you show a photo of the receiver wiring to the FC and a CLI dump from one of them?
you mean from drone?
Yes
I won't be able to show you wiring, but I flew these two drones today after flash, RX side works
I have 6 drones and all of them have working smartaudio and they connect to the reciever and can fly normally
You don't have them wired to an SBUS pad? You have them wired to a full UART and are getting more than 10 telemetry sensors?
They are on full UART. Stacks are different. Will check sensors in a sec
sorry it's sideways
10 sensors on happymodel EP1
Then something is wrong with your wiring or Betaflight configuration
Do you have Telemetry enabled in Betaflight?
how come the wiring is bad if my drones are flying for year now and i can flash RXs via bf passtrhough π
Wiring or configuration
RC commands are only one way
There is no communication from the FC back to the receiver right now, probably a configuration issue
Make sure Telemetry is enabled in Betaflight
Well i don't think it's problem on RX side my man
If you have Telemetry enabled and can flash via Passthrough you should have more than 10 sensors reported on the radio
But you are not
I do have more than 10 if that particular drone has GPS and Baro
Can you post a CLI dump and photos?
Even bare bones has accelerometer stats, flight mode, etc
Can you also load the webui page for one of the TX to make sure they were flashed with the correct options?
I really don't think it's problem with all 6 of my drones -- I wrote in original post that even VRX backpack does not react, there is no TX backpack wifi when I enable it in LUA. But VRX side seems to be working because I did flash that one via its own wifi sucessfully. RXs do work, they can enable their own wifi, they can be flashed via passthrough.
If i check TX page, there is version 3.0.1
I cannot check version of backpack TX since its wifi doesn't come up
The backpack has nothing to do with changing channels on the VTX. Something is wrong between the VTX and your transmitter, we're trying to figure out what that is first
Please load the webui of the TX module and take a screenshot
And how does the VRX switch channels?
VRX requires the backpack to change channels
But the first half isn't working now, so the second half definitely won't work
I see
We need to get the TX -> VTX side working first
will send screen in a sec
Then we can troubleshoot the TX -> VRX if it still isn't working after we solve the VTX issue
What radio firmware are you running? eg EdgeTX 2.7.1
Can you show the external rf sections of your model setup page?
!externalrf
I have Mambo, still waiting for EdgeTX π¦ It's running FreedomTX 1.3.4
which is the latest one
I'm missing the Baudrate and Status options, I have CRSF CH1-16
And ModelMatch 00 but I gues that has nothing to do with this
I'm trying to remember if there is anything weird about the Mambo related to this, but I don't think there is
Can you show a clear photo of the wiring and a BF CLI dump?
This is for Apex 5" , Mamba F405 Mk2 stack, BetaFPV 2,4G Nano reciever connected to UART6
Can you post a full dump and a photo of the wiring?
diff all isn't full dump?
No dump is dump, diff is diff
What ESC do you have? If BlHeli32, make sure the RX6 wire isn't connected in the ESC plug
Can you show the ESC connector?
But wait, i have the same issue over 6 different quads
different stacks and RXs
none of them can switch channel
Let's fully troubleshoot one then figure out if all have the same issue
CLI dump and photo of the ESC connector please
i sent u dump already with the rx wiring photo
Sorry, just saw the dump. Can you also show a picture of the ESC connector?
To ESC, there the exact same connecor on ESC
Remove that wire
Then your FC won't get power
Can you try reflashing the TX module quickly
Maybe via USB instead of WiFi
And the RX via passthrough
If that's the issue I would expect problems with the RC link as well, which it doesn't seem like you have
I don't see any other problems with the BF config or wiring
Too late, scissors were faster π I too do wonder if RX6 from esc can mess up RX comms on UART6
If this doesn't help, I will try to flash TX via UART
Well.. did cut the blue wire and it did nothing. Still 10 sensors and cannot switch VTX channels
I'm going to flash TX via UART, do I need to do the GPIO-RST button dance for it too?
You shouldn't need to, only if it won't go into bootloader mode by itself for some reason
So I reflashed ES24TX Pro with UART and EP2 RX with Passthrough using 1.5.2 configurator, Success - no errors
nothing changed
Can you load the WiFi config page for the receiver?
This is a different receiver
Can you show the page for the BetaFPV Nano we've been working on?
I'm running out of ideas here
Do you have another FC besides the Mamba we can look at?
What is the EP1/2 on?
I'm thinking about flashing it back to 2.5.1 to see if it works
Yes, that's a good idea
EP2 is on HGLRC F722 stack
Oh sorry its EP1 but it's the same as 2
So 2.5.1 didn't help either, same problem here
I did flash both RX, TX and used V2 lua
I can try to downgrade the backpack firmware too
1.0.0 backpack has problems compiling for change π I will leave it on 1.1.0 ... I'm out of ideas
If you are only getting 10 sensors via telemetry then betaflight telemetry is not working. If it was then you would see 18 sensors. And on them you should see yaw/pitch/roll angles in radians and they will update when you move the quad around.
Well I said to myself let's sleep on it and it did help. I noticed that most of my 868MHz quads do have 18 sensors in telemetry. VTX admin didn't work. So i deleted and rediscovered the sensors and VTX Admin works now with the ES900TX! I managed to reflash VRX and bind it with phrase and it works too.
For ES24TX - I did pick one drone that has 18 sensors and did the rediscovery but this didn't help on ES24TX π¦ And it didn't control VRX either. ES900TX can control VRX ant VTX no problem now, flashed with the same backpack firmware.
