Bottom line upfront: Story writing/dialogue needs to be trimmed down considerably. It is getting tedious and frankly not enjoyable to read.
This patch was the first time I actually started using the skip button, and I probably used it for at least 12 story nodes. And it still took me 3+ hours to clear all the story content in a single sitting. Let's remind ourselves that this is an action RPG gacha game, not a 100+ hour visual novel.
Story writing was satisfactory up until chapter 13 (Fake Ascension) and earlier, where pacing was far more appropriate and writing seemed to be more cohesive. The amount of tedious story filler has started becoming progressively more noticeable since chapter 14 (Imprisoned Sight) and this chapter update was where it hit critical mass. There is way too much pointless narration, exposition/soliloquy and repetition where there doesn't need to be. Certain story elements should be relegated to codex entries instead of trying to fully explained one line at a time.
And this chapter (28 - Polaris Bond) really jumped the shark by putting 2 chains of 5+ noncombat/gameplay story nodes in a row.
Ideally it should be possible to speedread the story for each mission/node in 2 minutes or less, with exceptions made for anything that is truly plot significant. Write as if this was going to be adapted into anime... you have 22 minutes per episode, convey only what needs to be conveyed. And if it needs to be written, then write using natural forms of speech. If this was fully voiced, your voice acting budget would be blown out of the water and you'd only be developing a cure for insomnia for most reasonable readers. Edit: I quit the game, but as a parting note some of you kids need to stay in school instead of making mindless posts here without understanding the root problem at hand... maybe you will get it one day when you actually have to balance gaming with other real life obligations.
