Brand new PGR players join #📨・meta-help and their super-basic questions are often ignored, they're told to wait X months for X character, or they're met with outright hostility for expressing interest in any character/team that doesn't follow the established meta.

Meta advice is great, and is the correct place to start -- but it's often enforced as the only acceptable option to new players. This leaves a terrible first impression for the new batch of post-WuWa players, and is extremely bad for new player retention.

There should be a channel for general help that new players can start out in, and a different channel for meta discussion and leaderboard climbing.

This will allow new players to choose the type of feedback they can expect to receive.

Uhm, you see, not every meta player is top 1%

#

1% mainly are spenders

#

Meta players are probably around 20%

I totally agree with radilina, top 20% are probably all meta players

#

Not to mention the newbies who want to follow meta but are currently too weak to do anything competitive

Edited to change "top 1% meta" to "meta" to not completely derail the actual point of this post
