I had the same problem too...but already found a solution... press Y in game (while fighting) to have your cursor on and you will be able to click "confirm" or anything without problem.

there would be 3 easy solutions to this problem:
- let us switch from "free mode" to "classic mode" during this screen manually (EDIT: its possible during the victory animation, but not when it is finished)
- give those buttons on the bottom right keybindings, so we don't even need the mouse
- force it back to "classic mode" automatically, if not already in "classic mode"
switching to "free mode", while the fight is still ongoing, may be a workaround, but not an enjoyable and acceptable solution. especially when the bosses get harder and you have to focus on actually winning the fight until the last second.
sadly this problem was already present during the last time, when this game mode was live. seems like nothing was done to fix it.

okay, i played the mode by myself now and have to add something.
it seems you are only trapped into this screen, when you let the full victory animation play to the end, while staying in "free mode".
that means it is easily possible to switch to "classic mode" during the victory animation of your character by pressing Y.
example: its possible to switch here during the animation, but not when its finished
