#video-share should be for everyone, not just CCs

As in the title, we already have #📀・content-creator-media channel where only CCs can post their videos. I believe that video-share should be for everyone to post their stuff, cause right now we basically have the same channel twice on the discord.

Since self-promo there isn't allowed, it basically makes for CCmedia2.0 where people can post vids of CCs, makes no sense at all that you can technically promote someone else but not yourself. I mention this because you can upload the vid in mp4 format but lets be fair, most of longer vids would have to be compressed which can screw up the quality, let us just post these videos from our channels

I can't publish my videos because I'm not a CC. I propose to eliminate the video-share channel because it is a duplicate of content-creator-media

may i ask the relevance of non-cc not being able to post their yt videos in #📀・video-share ?

i agree with this, i got warned once for posting my own vid in there because of "self-promote"

thing is, let's be really honest here, what's stopping me (or other ppl) from asking our own friend to post on our behalf instead just to circumvent this rule ? ||or even make alt discord account just to post it ourself||

to begin with, how does one even determine which utube ch is owned by which user ? mine just so happen to have same utube ch name as this discord name, that's why i easily got warned

personally, i havent done what i said above just yet, asking friend ||or make alt|| just to post my own vid, but this just shows how dumb the rule really is

The alternatives proposed by the moderators are not feasible:

  • The free version of streamable is severely limited to just 10 minutes of video or 250MB and these are deleted after 90 days, the paid version, even the most expensive one, is still severely limited

  • Again for the same reason as above, discord does not allow you to post large files, purchasing nitro does not solve the problem

I don't think anyone is willing to pay to post some videos when YouTube is free and without limitations
