This design irks me... Any tips or suggestions?

Made this few months ago, and I really don't like the direction I took with this...
He is supposed to be a warrior/mage

Ah I see, sorry I dont know much of species, but I searched it up on pintrest. I think if you study some anatomy of the specie and apply it to yours so the overall shape of the character becomes more right and hopefully it becomes less irk? Cus I think the design is fine, just the shape language of the character could be defined more if that make sense

You dont have to take the exact pointers as I did, just showing as an example of things you could consider to add to your character. Rather take inspiration of what you feel could be added and seem more right for you. Feel free to find other inspirations, maybe even real life animal of komodo dragon :D
