Here's my inspo and what I've created
I wanted to a similar thing as this
But with these colors
Here's what I've created
@visual patrol
you're on the right track, though i'd focus more of the background now that the wolf sihoulette is set
what should i add ? also are the proportions right ?
as far as the wolfleg on the left, I'd bring that up a bit more
@cloud cradle
Ah wolf anatomy.
😿
Generally these look fine.
what about the background and the rest should i change the color of the moon ? or add stuff ?
I'm not sure which one he is referring. But I believe it's more about Contrasting background. Thought you alrd did that.
Oh wait I thought these are yours
The thing about it is if you want it to look more like the two first ones, you need more sharp detail
for the fur or for the sketch ?
mine is the last one
Like you see the details of the feathers in the second one and the edges of fur in the first
For the fur edges you could potentially use Chicken scratches.
Many artist encourages you not to because clean lines are better, but furs are kinda different.
Yours is softer in comparison ^
okok
what about the ink ? should I cover the wolf with it like the first picture or should i just keep it around it ?
I keep looking into the refrence and thought "these are already correct. What are there wrong?"
OK so basically you did the composition decently. Our main focus would be on the wolf.
You can try making the background aka the sky darker for the contrasting effect.
If you want to keep the moon in the composition, u could keep it's current lightness or make it brighter.
I darkend the sky yes, should I add more stars ? like in 3 and 4th image ?
okok should I add details or will is it no necessary
Idk up to u.
It will add a natural environment as it suggest there's no light pollution.
Which is why u could see the star and Aurora at the artic.
okok I will do that then
Should I add trees or other elements ?
I am not sure.
My opinion cannot rlly guarantee on what u want to get eventually. You'll have to go with the flow.
good advice will do that
I'll show you guys my progression soon
@cloud cradle @visual patrol
yes more detailed!
put more contrast of the white and blue background
and then maybe copy the wolf and blur is a bit and you should have the end result you were going for?
what do you mean ? make it darker ?
Contrasting background mean making the opposite of the focal point.
Take white as the focal point, if ur whole background is black or just "extremely dark color like blue or purple". The first thing you'd see is the wolf.
Lemme show u FujiChoco's work as example.
Notice how the background is Hella complex yet the first thing we see is the girl (or the cat)?
This ususally have something to do with Composition and Contrast.
Composition rule is something where we want our viewer to look at first.
Contrast making the opposite of something to help see that "focal point".
can you send the png?
you can play with some filtering this time but moonie is right
I have no good example ;~;
All her work is complex
yes I see so to make sure the wolf is the center of the picture
on my tablet the background is darker...
kinda like this?
I get the idea yesss i'll tryy
I did the same with some texture brushes I had for the bg. Incidentally this might look a bit more wallpaper-y but it's just for reference
More to the point, the colors in those pieces stand out, and if you're going to use blue, make it pop
Make the blues indistinguishable from the gray of the wolf's outline
I love this one
but the blues are a bit bright in my opinion compared to this
should i try to create an effect like this ?
or this
better or not
@warm bramble do you think I should do everything like this background ?
it feels a bit empty
Id suggest making the moon have hard edges. Rn it just looks like its not an object glowing. More that it is a glow or something without a defined edge
okokk
alright I will just add a few stars
@sour musk my drawing is supposed to be a wolf but looks too much like a fox
do you know how I can fix it ?
let me seee
hmm
may i edit the image?
so
first find the distinction between the fox and the wolf
if we look at the noses, fox has narrow nose, while wolf's nose is broader and more robust
okk so I should make it more squareish
what about the ears
okk
how can I make them straight in my drawing
do you mind drawing on top of mine ?
something like this
straight up tringles
you can make them a little curvy forward to give shape
asian depictions usually had such ear shapes (curvy to the forward) if im not mistaken
okkay I get it now
feel free to tag me if u have further questions
I'll try with your tips and show you then
