Hi! I’m a teen, and really want to start commissions to be more responsible with money, as well as take off some strain on my parents. They are fine with me start commissions, but I don’t even know where to begin, or how to get my name out there enough to have people commission me. I also don’t fully understand how I should receive payment, or what I should begin my pricing at. Any help or tips are appreciated for starting out! I know it’s a huge ask.

So a few things. When opening your commissions, you need to keep posting that youre doing commissions or else you wont get anything. If you want to open commissions here, we have #🛒╭・commissions but there are rules you need to follow. Receiving payment its best to do it via services like venmo. You also want to have them pay you in advance or else they may cheat you out of your work. As far as costs, its hard to know without seeing your art since if someone just started learning art, they are not worth $300 usd but if they have extensive training and experience they may be worth that much or more.
