Lately I’ve been practicing poses and perspective, like in the drawing below where the dog is sitting in front of the boy. I’m having a hard time with the legs of the character while crouching—I can’t tell if it’s both legs that look wonky or just his right, so I would love help with that!

And then lastly, how do I make the dog look more like a German Shepard build-wise? All tips are welcome, even if I didn’t explicitly mention it!

Excuse the rough sketch, also!

Oh! And I will take tips on how to draw his coat/ any clothing tips to elevate the drawing.

It looks like he's sitting down. Think about his point of balance. If he's flat-foot on the ground he'd have to be leaning more forward to keep balance. & If he's resting on the balls of his feet, his knees would be pointing outward instead of up

I totally see what you mean. I think it’s a little harder for me to show exactly how he’s balancing because he’s wearing more bulky clothes, and then whenever I shift him I have to basically shift the rest of the drawing and the dog in order to make it seem like he’s still looking down at him 😭 it goes to say I think this is the best I’m going to get @spare hinge
