Hi, can anybody please give me tips on realistic shading? I know I’m not banger at anatomy but I’d love to learn how to shade more realistically. With every drawing I make I can tell that the shading looks out of place but it’s just habit at this point and I don’t know what to change or how. Please help. I am a traditional artist and I use regular pencil and paper

start of with simple shapes, although boring yes, learning to shade well with spheres etc will help alot in understanding organice 3d shapes.

also there is a 3d model on line loomis style, that has enviromental lighting, i forgot what is called, but should be easy enough to find. Its free resource
