What’s the best for (or YOUR way) to do your color art, because I got these instructions from a friend (I copied them down word by word but it’s a bit janky. But im hoping this is good for both art and shading instructions)

I personally do a rough sketch, then lineart. I then set it as a reference layer, go a layer beneath it, and set my base colors. I then make a clipping mask, and shade overtop of the base. I dont like to use layer modes. There are too many, and it's easier to just pick the color than learn them all for me
