To preface, here are some notes/ things I’ve noticed:

  • I chose not to add one of the hands
  • I feel the eye still feels flat because of the absence of reflection and dimension despite my attempt with the highlights
  • The hands show a lot of contrast. My goal was to make them look dead!
  • The shoulder and neck/ neck and head don’t have as much contrast as I had hoped making them just slightly blend into one another.
  • This painting is based off of the Taski Maiden from ENA: Dream BBQ

Hello! Im not a pro but i tried to do a quick paint over to help!

#

i think if you want to make certain things pop, you should use your reference to guide you with the lighting

#

there are certain values in greyscale that are darker and shape the piece more

#

the eye has a lot of white so it makes it stand out more and the background is lighter so it makes everything around stand out

#

i'm not good with colors though 😭 so good luck with that part!

#

anyways idk if this helped a little but i think as long as you use your reference in every aspect you should be able to fix most of those contrast problems!
