Finished this piece an hour ago, any advice would be helpful in how I did the shading in particular? I pushed it as far as I believe I can do as well using texture brushes to not look so smooth everywhere (major problem), I feel it doesn’t look great still, maybe I didn’t blend the colors or should’ve added more depth?

I think the anatomy, especially in the upper body, can be improved by simplifying the pose and, particularly, the face. Regarding color and shading, I highly recommend practicing with a grayscale drawing before coloring. This greatly helps in identifying flaws in depth, composition, proportions, silhouette, and many other aspects that are more difficult to spot in color at first glance. It also makes it much easier to use a gradient map later, resulting in a better color scheme that truly makes a difference. I believe the illustration has great potential if you consider some of my suggestions. Keep up the good work and best of luck!

Thank you. Appreciate it the advice. Only ever did greyscale to color once but I’ll give it more of a go and see if it works better. Thank you again

only other suggestion is that your shadows are too grey but that's about it

I can only suggest using a different method, like the Loomis or cylinder to properly place the Head. I do like the pose but gesture practicing would definitely help with the stiffness

Appreciate the advice from you all. I do see some of the problems arise looking at it better like the shading color and head position more.
