First time completing an art with background, but I feel like there is lack of details...

Did you work off a reference for this? It’s really helpful to have a reference of rocks or mountains or grass you like and mesh them together in a single piece using the individual references, try to pick pieces that fit together and belong in the same place as each other. That way you can examine the details and add in as much as you’d like, and come back to it over time if you want or start a new piece to practice those elements in a new way.
If you’re going for a stylized look you can find artists with a style you like to take inspiration from their style or the way they do textures or details, etc, and use references of how they do rocks/backgrounds/people/anything you’re looking for to create your own artworks (and credit the artist and reference creators of course)

Just for a way to add more details, I think it’s good though! You lose details the further something is in the background though don’t forget that

Not really. The full background is drawn through my imagination, which is why I think the background is very random. But sure I think I can try look for some references for my art. Thanks btw.

I’m not a good artist by any means, but what I accomplish is through references, I’d be lost without em!

#

That’s pretty good for your imagination at work though!

For more realistic drawings I do a simple lining over top of the drawing to block out shapes in the piece like the anatomy or background in your reference, then using that drawing I draw my own block figure while looking at the blocked out drawing, then I use the original photo without the blocked out shapes to add details. Don’t trace the blocked out shape, just use it as a reference for your anatomy or background. It’s easier to draw a bunch of rectangles and triangles and get them close to the original reference than just doing it without for a more beginner artist like myself

#

Here’s a reference of what I mean by blocking out the reference, the photo was taken by Jennifer Paulson, I blocked over it so you see what I mean for blocking over references

#

As far as I know this is an acceptable method of using a reference

Dam that is a very good reference for my drawing. Do you mind if I use it tho?

No problem at all!

You can break it down into further shapes that are easier to draw too, that was a little rushed

I see. Thanks for helping me
